Bryce Class of '11 | Portraits

Bryce is an upcoming senior all the way from the grand state of Montana. He's here in Washington visiting his dad, who joined in for the last frame of his session. Also, meet their awesome dog, Buster. It was my first time photographing with a dog! Thanks for choosing me as your senior portrait photographer Bryce :)

Kristina | Senior Portraits

Two Saturday mornings ago, I picked up Kristina up on Tumwater Hill and we headed to the old Schmidt House/the Falls for some senior portraits! Back in September, I visited the high school and dropped off some things and Kristina was the office TA. She mentioned that she wanted her portraits done by me. It was kind of late in the game at that point, and I told myself she'd be my last Senior (but obviously not... ha, I have a hard time saying no). We had scheduled for an earlier appointment, but because she had her wisdom teeth taken out recently, we had to reschedule. We were blessed to have a beautiful Saturday. Praise Jesus! It started out overcast, which I was totally thankful for but then it totally brightened up when the sun came out in the latter part of our session. Awesome. It seems like October is the prime time for family portraits here in Washington. I saw so many family sessions going on when I was out that day.

The green is so rich. It's so neat how the lens blurred the area surrounding her head but it's sharper towards the edge of the portraits... Click on it to view larger- you'll see what I mean.

Nghia | Senior Portraits

I've known Nghia for the majority of my existence. And it's unbelievable to me that he is now a Senior in high school. It just makes me feel so old and wonder to myself, how is it possible that time has passed so quickly? How is possible that I'm growing up so fast? That we're growing up so fast? I'll stop myself there before I go on a tangent.

Nghia and I, along with a lot of my other close friends, all grew up together in our local Vietnamese church. He's a hilarious kid and can always, always make you laugh. He says the most comical things! Nghia is a Senior at Capital this year and I know that he'll be really successful in the future as he grows up to be a Millionaire and own a Lambo. Also, if you need a Math tutor, get at him. ;)

Nghia is in color... not sure what age this was... but I thought I'd share this. Isn't it the cutest photo ever?

Nghia's also super tall... but he is a quarter Caucasian.

Dan | Senior Portraits

I'm actually running late for another Senior session as I type this and blog this- but I have a thing where I MUST blog my sessions the day of... I have two more to shoot tonight. But anywhoo... this is Dan, an upcoming Senior at Black Hills! Tomorrow is actually the first day of his Senior year. We met up at the Schmidt House today in Tumwater and just shot around there... it was actually pretty neat. It's a historical house and I have had plenty of chances to go there before but never actually did so it was nice that his mom picked out that location. Right next to the house, was a huge building that I think they are rebuilding? who knows... but it gave for an urban kind of feel... Dan was fun to crack- he seemed shy, but I got him to laugh. I need to start looking up jokes or something for the more 'serious' Seniors... but Dan definitely had a good serious face- I'll give him that. ;)
